Read the shape first
Deep inside curves, narrow necks, sharp direction changes, and long thin pieces concentrate stress. Mark these before choosing glass.
Change the line, not your luck
Soften an inside radius, widen a fragile neck, or divide an ambitious piece along a natural design line. A small pattern change is often invisible in the finished panel.
Match glass to the cut
Heavy texture, ripple, and strong directional grain can make difficult shapes less predictable. Test on clear scrap or choose a calmer sheet for the most demanding pieces.
Plan the break
Score once with even pressure, run the easiest portions first, and remove waste in stages. Never force a break toward your hand.
